Following the success of January's seminar, Noval Smith is back and this time he will be doing a session for absolute beginners (for those who missed it the first time) and also a session for intermediates to follow on from the last seminar.
The Piano Seminar will be held on Saturday 16th of April 2011, and is specifically designed for those who would like to learn how to play the piano "by ear" without the need for reading sheet music..
This exciting seminar is a fun effective way of learning songs on the piano, using easy-to- follow training excercises and playing alongside a live band with singers. Everything will be captured on camera so that you can see what's been played and try it for yourself.
It is open to all ages, and requires NO previous experience!!
Beginners Session - (10am - 1.30pm)
This session is for absolute beginners. Noval will be covering the basics of the piano, from naming the notes on the piano, to playing basic chords and music exercises. You will even be playing some well known songs with a live band and singers!!! There will be keyboards available for people to play along, and also an opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.
Intermediates Session - (2.30pm - 6pm)
Following on from the beginners session, Noval will be demonstrating how to tackle the common problems when learning new songs on the piano. The areas that will be covered in this session will be:
Playing in different keys
Using a sustain pedal
Finding the right key for a song
Understanding Chord names
Creating a song from scratch
